Yeri, the youngest of the 5-member group Red Velvet under SM entertainment, came out with her first ever solo song on March 14th. Yeri wrote the song herself, as she has been wanting to do for a long time (as she stated in a recent interview.) The song is slow and relaxing. It highlights her voice a lot more than many Red Velvet songs because of the tone-I personally think her voice fits much better with a calmer song (like Butterflies by Red Velvet, my personal favorite by them.) Dear Diary is part of SM Station, a program SM runs that allows artists to release more songs, especially SM artists. SM artists are known to have very good and cohesive discographies, so SM Station allows artists to experiment more. Dear Diary is a wonderful song, and it fits Yeri exceptionally.
